Urbana Public Arts Program Invites the Public to the 2013 Urbana Arts Grants Celebration

Event at Buvons Wine Bar on March 28, 2013 will recognize 2013 Urbana Arts Grants recipients.

The City of Urbana Public Arts Commission is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2013 Urbana Arts Grants. Created in 2009, the Urbana Arts Grants Program makes funding available to artists, artist teams, organizations, businesses, and festival presenters for projects that enrich the lives of residents and visitors in Urbana. Applications are evaluated based on artistic quality, community integration, and project feasibility.  In 2013, the fifth funding cycle of the program, 57 applications were received requesting more than $195,000.  Sponsored by the City of Urbana and the Urbana Business Association through the Business Backs the Arts initiative, grants have been awarded to the 23 projects listed below, with funding totaling to $47,500. Full descriptions of recipients may be found online at http://urbanaillinois.us/artsgrants.  To recognize these grant recipients, an Announcement Celebration will be held from 5:30 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Buvons Wine Bar in Urbana.
