Civilian Police Review Board (CPRB)

Charged with offering a citizen’s perspective to the review of complaints and to provide a systematic means to promote and maintain positive police-community relations, the Civilian Police Review Board (CPRB) reviews complaints in a fair, thorough and timely manner and reports board findings to the Mayor and Chief of Police.The CPRB was established by Mayor Laurel Lunt Prussing and the Urbana City Council in 2011 to provide a fair and independent process for the review of citizen complaints concerning sworn police officers.

The CPRB is not a part of the Urbana Police Department.

The City of Urbana invites you to bring your ideas to a Listening Session as the CPRB members evaluate and redefine the process for the review of citizen complaints concerning sworn police officers.

If you are unable to join us for a Listening Session you are welcome to email your suggestions to the CPRB Chair Ricardo Diaz at xpenn.diaz@gmail.com

The Listening Session will be held via Zoom Webinar. You may join as a Webinar Participant or Telephone Participant.

Webinar Participants Click this link to join the Webinar: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83807700853. You must provide your name and email address in order to join the Webinar. If you wish to speak, “raise your hand” and wait to be called on by the meeting host. Participants will be muted except when they are called on to speak; video will remain off for all members of the public when speaking. You must state your first name and last name for the meeting record.

Telephone Participants Call 312-626-6799. Enter the Webinar ID (838 0770 0853) followed by the # key. All callers are muted by default. If you wish to speak, “raise your hand” by pressing *9 once. When you are called on by the host or presiding officer you will be un-muted. You must state your first name and last name for the meeting record.
