UPTV Wins Regional Awards
The City of Urbana is pleased to announce that Urbana Public Television will receive two awards at the 5th Annual Best of the Midwest Media Fest and Awards Banquet. The banquet recognizes the best community access television programs in the Midwest.
UPTV community producer Jacob Bernard will receive an award for the third straight year as he is being recognized for his work producing a promotional video about UPTV. The video has been named Best in Show and Bernard received an Excellence Award for his role in the production.
UPTV’s monthly series featuring local artists, Art Now, will receive an Achievement Award in the professional category of Short Form Documentary/Featurette. The submitted episode, produced by Production Coordinator Jason Liggett and the Urbana Public Arts Program, features an interview with local artist Judith Johnson.
“Once again, the outstanding training our Production Coordinator Jason Liggett provides our citizen producers, coupled with his and their skill and creativity, has been acknowledged on the larger stage of community access television nationwide. These awards are very well-deserved!” commented UPTV Station Manager Jake Schumacher.
The Media Fest Banquet and Show will take place on Thursday, April 6th in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
UPTV is the City of Urbana’s Public, Education and Government access television station. It is available locally on Comcast channel 6, AT&T U-Verse Channel 99, iTV-3 channel 6 and streaming worldwide at their website.
