RESCHEDULED to JULY 1 - Life Is A Cycle Bike Ride
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED DUE TO POTENTIALLY INCLEMENT WEATHER ON MAY 20
NEW DATE IS JULY 1 at 9:00AM
May is National Bike Month, and we’re following up on the success of Bike to Work Day with our Life Is A Cycle bike ride on May 20th (rescheduled to July 1). This ride is geared towards adult novice riders, so it is perfect for a family outing! Bring your helmet, a working bike - and a friend - and join us as we cruise from the Farmer's Market at Lincoln Square Mall to Meadowbrook Park and back. We will have snacks and extra water, but be sure to bring your own reusable water bottle!
The ride will be led by experienced cyclists, and we will have both long (9 mile) and short (6 mile) routes. Safety orientation and a complimentary bike check starts at 9:00 a.m. Registration before the event is only $1.50; on-site registration is $5 - all proceeds benefit the American Heart Association.
You can register for the Life Is A Cycle bike ride online here. Donate $5 or more and get your own CU Bike Month T-shirt, while supplies last: proceeds benefit the Champaign County Bikes new Earn-A-Bike Program, which provides new bikes and bicycle maintenance and safety classes to low-income and high school-aged participants.
Fun and casual. What could be better?
Event runs from 9:00-11:30AM. For more on Champaign-Urbana’s Bike Month activities, visit http://cubikemonth.weebly.com/.
