Springfield Avenue Lane Closure

Weather permitting, the eastbound lane of Springfield Avenue from Lincoln Avenue to Coler Avenue will be closed between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, June 5, 2016 through Friday, June 10, 2016 or until the project is completed.


During construction, eastbound traffic will be directed to travel south on Lincoln Avenue to Green Street, then Green Street to Race Street, and Race Street to Main Street.


Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully through this and all construction areas. Thank you for your cooperation while this improvement is in progress

Florida Avenue Lane Closure

June 6, 2016 - 6:00am to June 11, 2016 - 4:00pm

Weather permitting, the eastbound lane of Florida Avenue from Lincoln Avenue to Race Street will be closed beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2016 through 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016 or until the project is completed.


During construction, eastbound traffic will be directed to travel south on Lincoln Avenue to Windsor Road, then Windsor Road to Race Street, and then Race Street to Florida Avenue.


Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully through this and all construction areas. Thank you for your cooperation while this improvement is in progress.

University Avenue Lane Closures

June 1, 2016 - 7:00am to June 8, 2016 - 4:00pm

Weather permitting, the outside lane for eastbound traffic on University Avenue will be closed between Hickory Street and Sycamore Street in front of the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District Offices, 803 East University Avenue, Urbana, Illinois, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day starting Wednesday, June 1, 2016 through Wednesday, June 8, 2016 for curb cut closure work at the locations shown on the attached map.


University Avenue will remain open to traffic at all times during the construction work. Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully through this and all construction areas.

Notice of Amendment to Annual Action Plan FY 2013-2014 & FY 2014-2015; Notice of Public Hearing

The City of Urbana, as a member of the Urbana HOME Consortium, proposes to amend the Cityof Urbana’s HOME Program budget in the FY 2013-2014 Annual Action Plan and FY 2014-2015 Annual Action Plan. A transfer from the City of Urbana’s allocation of HOME funds from the Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation program to City Redevelopment Funds is proposed to provide necessary support for the development of Highland Green (formerly Kerr Avenue Sustainable Development), which is a 33-unit affordable housing development on City-owned property at 401-403 East Kerr Avenue in Urbana. The City of Urbana also proposes to amend the City’s CDBG Program budget in the FY 2014-2015 Annual Action Plan. A transfer of carryover funds from various programs from the City of Urbana’s allocation of CDBG funds is proposed to increase the amount of funding for the Capital Improvement Projects-Kerr Avenue Sustainable Development project. 

Oregon Street Lane Closure

Weather permitting, the westbound lane on Oregon Street will be closed at its intersection with Maple Street from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016 for a fire hydrant repair. Oregon Street will remain open to traffic at all times during the construction work.

Cunningham Avenue Lane Closures

May 20, 2016 - 7:00am to June 3, 2016 - 5:00pm

Weather permitting, the outside lane for north and south bound traffic on Cunningham Avenue will be closed between Park Street and Perkins Road from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day starting Friday, May 20, 2016 through Friday, June 3, 2016 for curb cut closure work at the locations shown on the attached map.


Cunningham Avenue will remain open to traffic at all times during the construction work.

Anderson Street Road Closure

Weather permitting, D&S Sewer Services, Inc. will be doing sewer repairs and will close a section of Anderson Street between Washington Street and Fairlawn Drive from Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 7:00 a.m. through Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.


A detour route will be established, utilizing Washington Street, Webber Street, and Fairlawn Drive. This section of Anderson Street will remain open to local traffic only during construction. Traffic control will be in place to guide motorists through the detour route and for local traffic.

Race Street and Washington Street Lane Closure

May 2, 2016 - 7:00am to May 6, 2016 - 5:00pm

As part of the 2016-2018 Miscellaneous Sewer Repair Project, and weather permitting, Duce Construction will be doing sewer repairs and will close a section of the southbound lane on Race Street and the westbound lane on Washington Street starting on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 7:00 a.m. through Friday, May 6, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. Both Race Street and Washington Street will remain open to through traffic at all times during the project. Traffic control will be in place to guide motorists through the areas where travel is reduced to one lane.
