Interstate 74 Reflective Marker Project -- Revised

July 26, 2012 - 9:00pm to July 30, 2012 - 6:00am

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced that night work is scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2012 until 6:00 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2012 to replace reflective pavement markers on I-74, between University Avenue and I-57 in Champaign County.  If necessary, additional work will occur during the same times on Sunday and Monday nights, July 29 and July 30.

The project includes replacing the reflectors that distinguish the lane lines in the pavement of the interstate.  The number of lanes on I-74 will be reduced as work progresses.

This is part of the project to replace the reflectors in various locations throughout the five-county district.  The anticipated completion date for this portion of roadway is Monday, July 30, 2012, weather permitting.  The contractor for this $200,000 project is MAS Markers.

Motorists are advised to observe all traffic control signs, slow down and drive carefully through this and all work zones.
