The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that, weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 4, 2015 to resurface Illinois Route 130 from Philo, Illinois to Washington Street in Urbana, Illinois.
This project will include patching and resurfacing of Illinois Route 130. During this project, traffic on Illinois Route 130 will be reduced to one lane. While work is ongoing, motorists are reminded to observe all traffic control signs.
The anticipated completion date is August 2015. Cross Construction is the contractor for this $2.9 million project.
Please slow down and use extreme caution while driving through all work zones.

The City of Urbana, Illinois is requesting Proposals for Redevelopment of 200 South Vine Street in Downtown Urbana. This full city block, which sits at the corner of Green Street and Vine Street, represents an excellent opportunity for a new, mixed-use construction project on a 1.7 acre site.

The City of Urbana is represented by CBRE in this RFP process. A non-mandatory Pre-Proposal Meeting will be held in the Urbana City Council Chambers on March 18th at 2:00pm; a conference call number will also be made available.
Beginning Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 7:00 a.m. there will be a traffic switch on High Cross Road where the north and southbound travel lanes will switch to the newly paved lanes on the west half of the roadway. The east half of the existing pavement will be closed until further notice for road work and widening. Also, the east and westbound traffic on University Avenue at the High Cross Road intersection will switch travel lanes to allow for roadway work and widening on the north half of the pavement.
Construction is expected to be completed in December, 2014, weather permitting.

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that patching will occur in Champaign and Vermilion Counties on Interstates 74 and 57 beginning April 21, 2014, continuing through May 31, 2014.
- The project includes patching of Interstate 57 from the Douglas County line to north of Interstate 74 and patching of Interstate 74 from University Avenue in Urbana to Martin Luther King Drive near Danville. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction at locations where work is ongoing.
The anticipated completion date is May 2014, weather permitting. The contractor for the $400,000 project is Kinney Contractors.
Motorists are advised to slow down, obey posted limits and drive carefully through this and all work zones.

The Illinois Department of Transportation will be performing rout and seal work on University Avenue between Race Street and Wright Street beginning on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 7:00 AM. Lanes on University Avenue will be temporarily closed while the work is being done. The project is anticipated to be completed by Friday, September 13, 2013, weather permitting.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), Region 3/District 5, announced that cable guardrail will be installed on Interstate 74 (I-74) from US Route 45 to High Cross Road in Champaign County beginning on Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Weather permitting, the work will be completed by November 2013.
This project includes earthwork, adjustments to the existing drainage system and the installation of a high tension cable guardrail system in the median of the interstate. Traffic on I-74 will be reduced to one lane in each direction at locations where work is ongoing with the left lane being closed during daytime hours.
While work is ongoing, please observe all traffic control signs. Cell phone use is prohibited in construction zones.
Motorists are advised to slow down and drive carefully through this and all work zones.

On Tuesday, September 27, 2011 the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will be escorting a wide load travelling west on US Route 150 from Interstate 74 exit 210 in Danville, Illinois to Interstate 74 exit 185 in Urbana, Illinois.
Motorists may experience delays. In particular, for those travelling in Urbana, delays may occur at the intersections of US 150 and Illinois Route 130 (High Cross Road), US 150 and Smith Road and US 150 and University Avenue/Guardian between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
