Urbana Fire Department Accepting Applications for Firefighter-EMT

 Applications are now being accepted for Firefighter-EMT at the Urbana Fire Department. The Firefighter-EMT position is consistently one of the most competitive and sought-after positions at the City. This selection process will create an eligibility list to fill vacancies for the next two years.

Urbana Fire Chief Charles Lauss noted that this year’s campaign theme is “Climb the Ladder,” which refers to both the challenging selection process and the demanding career. “This is a field where no two days are ever alike, and you always have to bring your best effort,” he stated. “However, our slogan is that ‘opportunity starts with the first step.’ With these challenges come incredible rewards, both personally and professionally.”

 Applications for Firefighter-EMT will be accepted through June 12, 2019, and a recruiting open house will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019. Anyone interested in applying can visit www.urbanaillinois.us/jobs to complete an application online and RSVP for the open house.
