Prevailing Wage Act

The Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1 et seq.) requires contractors or subcontractors to pay prevailing wages to all laborers, workers, and mechanics who perform work on a public works project. Closed - Request for Quotes: Solar Powered LED Enhanced Signage (1819-06)

The City of Urbana (City) is seeking quotes to provide the City with equipment for solar powered LED enhanced signage. The City intends to install this equipment at two separate locations, with each installation requiring: a solar array, backup batteries, programmable timer, and a LED enhanced warning sign.

Equipment Requirements:

Signs shall meet the following requirements:

  • One (1) Pedestrian (W11-2) Warning Sign
  • One (1) Bicycle/Pedestrian (W11-15) Warning Sign
  • Size 36” x 36”
  • Fluorescent Yellow-Green Background
  • MUTCD compliant retroreflective prismatic sheeting
  • MUTCD compliant use of flashing Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs)

Timer

  • Two (2) programmable timers capable of initiating LED flashing for at least three (3) separate times of day (i.e. 7 am-9 am, 11 am-1 pm, 4 pm-6 pm)
  • Timer programming hardware and software

Sealed BIDS for the construction of the 2018 Full Depth Concrete Patching– Part 2 (City Section 18-00612-00-PV) including: 10” Class B Patching; 6” Class C Patching and other incidental work will be received by the City of Urbana at the office of the Director of Public Works, 706 South Glover, Urbana, Illinois 61802 until 1:55 p.m. prevailing time on Friday, September 28, 2018 and publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 p.m. at said office.

All bidders are required to provide current financial and experience statements or other prequalification documents to show satisfactory evidence of the bidder’s competency to perform the proposed work at the time the Contract Documents and Specifications are requested or picked up. The bidder must submit evidence of current prequalification with the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Closed - Request for Bid: 2018 Brick Sidewalk Repair Project (1819-04)

Sealed BIDS will be received until 2:00 P.M. prevailing time on September 12, 2018 and opened and read aloud publicly at 2:02 P.M. prevailing time on September 12, 2018 at the office of the City Engineer, 706 South Glover, Urbana, Illinois, 61802 for the 2018 BRICK SIDEWALK REPAIR PROJECT (City Section 17-00591-00-SW) furnishing of all materials, equipment and labor necessary to complete the removal and resetting of brick sidewalk pavers, palletizing of brick pavers, aggregate base course, grading and seeding, concrete sidewalk removal, traffic control and all other work related to the completion of the project as indicated by the plan and specifications and as directed by the ENGINEER or Designee. All of the sidewalks under this project belong to the City of Urbana.

Each BID must be accompanied by a BID BOND payable to the City of Urbana in the amount of five percent of the total amount of the BID. The Bid Bond of the three lowest bidders for the CONTRACT will be held until receipt of a signed CONTRACT and CONTRACT BOND. All other BID BONDS will be returned after comparison of the BIDS.
