UC2B Community Ambassador Job Application Assistance Workshop

UC2B is Hiring Community Ambassadors


UC2B is the short name for Urbana-Champaign Big Broadband, which is a collaboration between the cities of Urbana and Champaign, the University of Illinois, and several other public and private partners. Together, they received grant funding to build a fiber-optic Internet network that offers fast, high-speed internet access to neighborhoods, businesses, and Community Anchor institutions across Urbana-Champaign.


Urbana Broadband Project Open House

Residents of Urbana will have an opportunity to view exhibits and plans of the UC2B Urbana Broadband project at an informal public open house to be held in the Multi-Purpose Room at Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School, 1108 West Fairview Avenue, Urbana, Illinois on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.


Participants are asked to park in the north parking lot off Goodwin Avenue and enter through the doors on the northwest side of the building.

Bids for Parking Lot #12 Construction Project

Sealed BIDS will be received until 2:00 P.M. prevailing time on AUGUST 31, 2011 and opened and read aloud publicly at 2:05 P.M. prevailing time on AUGUST 31, 2011 at the office of the City ENGINEER, 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, Illinois, 61802 for the furnishing of all materials, equipment and labor necessary for the Parking Lot #12 Project (City Section 11-00507-00-PK).


The project includes constructing a new 4,482 square foot asphalt parking lot including storm sewer and other site work.
