Starting Monday, December 2, 2013, at 11 pm, the front desk of the Urbana Police Department will be closing during overnight hours. The front desk will remain closed daily from 11 pm – 7 am.
Accordingly, the city building lobby area will be closed and locked to the public. Phones will be available in the three foyers of the city building, and those phones will connect to either a police department employee who happens to be in the building or a METCAD dispatcher, depending on availability.
While the police department does not anticipate any drop-off in the level of service provided to the community, the department does apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
