For today only (Thursday, October 26, 2017), Vine Street from north of Main Street to south of University Avenue will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for pavement resurfacing, weather permitting. The Vine Street and Main Street intersection will be closed periodically throughout the day. During the closure of the intersection, flaggers will be present to direct traffic around the intersection.

Area residents and commercial landscapers/haulers who bring leaves or branches to the Landscape Recycling Center from October 16 through December 2 can receive a 20% discount coupon to use when buying LRC products. Residents must bring a minimum of 1 cubic yard, or about 9 standard-size yard waste bags, to LRC’s facility at 1210 E. University Ave., in Urbana to qualify for the coupon.

Solar Urbana-Champaign 2.0 has come to a close with 447 kilowatts (kW) of clean solar energy contracted for installation on 58 homes and businesses in Champaign County. Congratulations to all who participated! You are helping make your community cleaner and more energy independent!

Vine Street from north of Main Street to south of University Avenue will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., each day, for milling and pavement resurfacing, starting October 23, 2017 and ending October 27, 2017 weather permitting. The Vine Street and Main Street intersection will be open to traffic at all times.

The City of Urbana is lining more than 7,000 lineal feet of storm and sanitary sewer pipe to improve the integrity of both sewer systems. Beginning Thursday, October 19, 2017, Visu-Sewer of Missouri, LLC will be performing sewer cleaning and lining at various locations in Urbana. This work is expected to be completed by Friday, November 3, 2017.
