Human Kinetics will be hosting the Twin City Twosome 5K run/walk on Saturday May 12, 2012 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am.This event will start in Crystal Lake Park and will continue onto Park Street at Central Avenue and continue east on Park Street to Broadway Avenue and north on Broadway Avenue to the entrance of Crystal Lake Park across the street from Stebbins Drive. The event will follow through Crystal Lake Park back to Park Street.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announces that, weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin Monday, May 7, 2012 to install high tension cable guardrail on I-74 between Urbana (beginning at a location between the University Avenue, Exit 185, and the High Cross Road overpass) and St. Joseph in Champaign County.

The City of Urbana has contracted with John Burns Construction Company from Orland Park, Illinois to install fiber optic conduit and handholes throughout various streets in the City of Urbana.Beginning 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 through 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012 weather permitting, Windsor Road will have periodic lane closures in the westbound lane from High Cross Road to Myra Ridge Drive to allow for the installation of fiber optic handholes. Two-way traffic will be maintained on Windsor Road at all times while this work is performed.
