Are you interested in locating or expanding your business in Urbana? If so, the City can assist you in finding the best location to meet your needs. The Economic Development Division can now better assist business owners and developers in finding available commercial and industrial sites with the help of the Champaign County Economic Development Corporation and the Location One Information System (LOIS). These services are offered at no charge to the user and may be accessed here or by contacting the Economic Development Division at (217) 384-2444.
LOIS is provided by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and is used by real estate professionals and site selectors state-wide. The City of Urbana maintains local listings and can also create new property and business listings on request. Once a property has been added to LOIS, anyone can generate free, site-specific market and demographic reports. Learn more here.
Urbana Public Television once again worked with the Urbana Park District and Urbana Middle School for the SPLASH after-school program. UPTV staff trained the students on how to write scripts and film public service announcements.
The Prairie Center provided expertise on what content the students could feature in the anti-drug videos. The students were in charge of story boarding, scripting and filming their projects which are currently running on UPTV. They were also able to have time to film a short promotional video about Urbana Public Television.
