Murals on Glass and Utility Box Mural Programs

The City of Urbana Arts and Culture Commission invites artists residing in Champaign County to participate in the fourth cycle of Murals on Glass, an initiative to feature local artworks on downtown Urbana windows and the newly added Utility Box Mural Program. Up to five selected pieces will be reproduced in adhesive vinyl and adhered to selected locations: one municipal building and up to four utility boxes in Urbana's Downtown. Selected artists will receive a $300 honorarium.

UTILITY BOX MURALS

Utility Box Mural locations will be throughout the city of Urbana. Applicants are encouraged to submit vibrant works of art that reflect Urbana's diverse cultural landscape and artistic life. 

Murals on Glass and the new Utility Box Mural program not only make a more vibrant Urbana, but also provide opportunities and direct support for local artists. To see current Murals on Glass on display, visit http://www.urbanaillinois.us/muralsonglass. 

All applications are due by 5:00 PM CST on Friday, August 13th, 2021. Late submissions will not be accepted.
