Urbana City Offices Closed January 30 2019

The City of Urbana Mayor, Diane Wolfe Marlin, has decided that City facilites will close at 5 p.m. today, January 29, 2019 and will remain closed through Wednesday, January 30, 2019 due to forecasted extreme temperatures.

City offices will reopen as regularly scheduled on Thursday, January 31, 2019.

This includes the Urbana City Building, the Urbana Free Library and Urbana Public works.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill warning until Thursday at 12 p.m. These predicted subzero temperatures could range anywhere from -29 degrees to -39 degrees Fahrenheit.

The City urges all to please use extreme care and to check on family, friends and neighbors for the duration of this weather event. Safety tips can be found at: www.urbanaillinois.us/extremecold.
