UPTV Wins Regional Awards

The City of Urbana is pleased to announce Urbana Public Television will recieve two awards at the 7th Annual Best of the Midwest Media Fest and Awards Banquet.  The banquet recognizes the best community access television programs in the Midwest.

City staff will be recognized for their instructional video, How to Aerate Your Lawn.  The video features City Arborist Mike Brunk explaining how residents can utilize the Landscape Recycling Center to grow and maintain a healthy turf.  Woolard Marketing Consultants' Bonnie Woolard wrote the script.

"Mike Brunk's passion for Urbana and education come through on the camera each and every time I work with him.  His knowledge is what made this video such a delight to produce," commented UPTV Station Manager, Jason Liggett.

The Urbana Park District will be honored for Mark in the Park.  This program, hosted by Public Information and Marketing Manager Mark Schultz, can be seen regularly at 8:00 a.m. Saturday mornings on UPTV.

"Mark in the Park is a great example of our governmental bodies working together for the betterment of the community.  If there is something happening at the Urbana Park District you can find out about it on this show," commented Liggett.

The Media Fest Banquet and Show will take place on Thursday, May 9 in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.  Liggett will attend to accept the awards.
