Vine and Washington Resurfacing Project Public Meeting
A public meeting for the Vine and Washington Resurfacing Project will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 4:00pm to provide information and accept input from residents and community stakeholders. Exhibits, plans and aerial photography of the project area will be presented and project representatives will be available to discuss the construction plans for the project and to answer any questions.
City staff ask that any questions, concerns, or other input be provided in advance of this meeting so that project representatives may efficiently address any common items. Please send this input via email to Projects@urbanaillinois.us by 5:00pm Wednesday, June 10, 2020.
Presentations will be made at 4:00pm and 5:00pm, each followed by a question and answer session.
The Vine and Washington project includes the complete reconstruction of Vine Street from south of the Vine and Washington Street intersection to just north of California Avenue. Washington Street will also be completely reconstructed from Walnut Street to east of the intersection of Vine and Washington. Included in the reconstruction is the replacement of all pavement including the curb and gutter as well as driveway approaches that extend from the sidewalk to the street. Also included will be ADA compliant improvements of all sidewalk ramps in the project boundaries which will go toward improving accessibility for pedestrians.
The proposed improvements are located along Vine Street from the intersection of California Avenue to just south of the intersection of Washington Street and Vine Street. The proposed improvements are also located along Washington Street from Walnut Street to just east of Urbana Avenue.
The work under this contract shall consist of the construction of:
• Removal and replacement of concrete roadway and concrete curb;
• Removal and replacement of asphalt roadway at select locations;
• Removal and replacement of all driveway approaches throughout project limits;
• Replacement of ADA sidewalk ramps throughout project limits;
• Other work as necessary to complete construction as shown in the plans and required by the specifications
