Crochet Coral Reef

The School of Art and Design invites you to participate in creating a crochet coral reef for the Urbana-Champaign Satellite Reef, part of the worldwide Crochet Coral Reef Project created by Margaret and Christine Wertheim. This tutorial will take place outside at Cherry Alley next to the Library's Green St. entrance. We will go over the basics to get you started. No previous experience necessary! Yarn and crochet hooks will be provided if you need them.

The Urbana Free Library asks all unvaccinated people to wear a mask completely covering your nose and mouth when visiting Library programs.

If there is bad weather on June 13 participants will be notified, and the program will take place on Tuesday, June 15 at 6 pm.

All participants are encouraged to keep crocheting and making corals until the end of September, when we hope you will lend us your creations to be exhibited at The Seibel Center for Design.
