Down Payment Assistance Program
Urbana Down Payment Assistance Program
The City of Urbana Grants Management Division offers a down payment assistance program for income qualified households who are looking to purchase a home within the Urbana city limits. Urbana's Down Payment Assistance can be used to pay the following eligible down payment costs:
- Financing fees
- Credit reports
- Title binders and insurance
- Surety fees
- Recordation fees, transactions taxes
- Legal and accounting fees, including cost certification
- Appraisals
- Private Home Inspections by independent vendor
Only households with an annual incomes at or below 80% of the Area Median will qualify for this program. HUD income limits for Champaign County can be found here:https://www.huduser.gov/portal/datasets/il/il2021/2021summary.odn
Urbana’s Down payment assistance can be combined with other down payment programs such as Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) and Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB).
This program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). All federal regulations apply.
