America Recycles Day - November 15, 2014

Activities: Create a work of art from reused or repurposed materials at home (see instructions below) and bring to the event for a chance to win an award in the Creative R²euse Competition!

• Pledge to recycle for a chance to win prizes


• Participate in recycling games


• See artwork by a local artists


• Recycle household batteries, cell phones, ink jet cartridges and mercury thermostats


• Arts & crafts activity - using inner tubes from bicycles!

Creative R²euse Competition Guidelines:

1. Size: No larger than 25 lbs. 


2. Dimensions: No larger than 3’L x 3’W x 3’H


3. Materials: At least 90% recycled content (list where materials came from)


4. Purpose: Item must be useful & serve a purpose - Originality is a plus!


5. Submission: All participants must turn-in a completed Entry Form (attached) with their creation. Artwork may be dropped-off at the Anita Purves Nature Center from 3-5pm on Friday, November 14, or from 9am-12pm on Saturday, November 15, 2014. Judging will take place from 1-1:30pm on America Recycles Day, Saturday, November 15; winners will be announced from 1:45-2pm at the Anita Purves Nature Center.
