Urbana Public Arts Program Announces an Artist of the Corridor Exhibition by Travis Hocutt

Date: March 1, 2016 - 5:00pm

The City of Urbana invites the public to view the latest Artist of the Corridor exhibition featuring Urbana artist Travis Hocutt.

This exhibition runs from December 1st to February 29th, 2016 at the City Building (400 S. Vine Street), and the Urbana Free Library (210 W. Green Street). An opening reception will be held at the City Building lobby on Friday, December 18th at 5:00 p.m. All are welcome.

Travis Hocutt is currently the Artist in Residence at the IMC and has received a BFA from the Art Institute of Boston, an MFA from the Cranbrook Academy of Art. In addition, Hocutt recently became the Artist in Residence at the Urbana Champaign Independent Media Center. His work has been exhibited both locally and internationally. Hocutt’s work revolves around the theme of exploration, usually in outer space and engages the physical and experiential limits of our perception.

Artist of the Corridor, an initiative by the City of Urbana Public Arts Program, is an exhibition series that features local art in the City Building and the Urbana Free Library. All Artist of the Corridor shows are free and open to the public.
