Elm Street Closure

November 5, 2014 - 5:00pm

Due to a water main break, Elm Street between Vine Street and Broadway Avenue will be closed until further notice.

Motorists can access the Independent Media Center (IMC) and U.S. Post Office (202 South Broadway Avenue, Urbana) from Main Street to Broadway Avenue.  Access to the Federal Court House (201 South Vine Street, Urbana), City of Urbana parking lot #10-A North, and the Champaign County Courthouse parking lot is available from Vine Street to Elm Street.

Interstate 74 Night Repair

October 11, 2010 - 10:00pm to October 15, 2010 - 6:00am

Paris--The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that weather permitting, there will be night construction on Interstate 74 through Champaign.

Beginning Monday night, October 11, 2010, IDOT's contractor, Complete Asphalt Company, will be sealing cracks on I-74 between University Avenue and Interstate 57.  The work will begin at 10 p.m. and will end by 6 a.m.  IDOT estimates that it will take 4 nights to complete the work.  There will be lane closures during the night, but all lanes will be open through the day.  While work is on-going, please observe all traffic signs.

Motorists are advised to slow down and drive carefully through this and all work zones.

Street Closure on Florida Avenue Between Race Street and Vine Street

July 19, 2010 - 6:00am to July 23, 2010 - 2:00pm

Florida Avenue will be closed to through traffic from Race Street to Vine Street from Monday, July 19, 2010 through Friday, July 23, 2010 to perform street repairs.  Residents living within the construction area may use Broadway Avenue to access their homes.

During construction, eastbound traffic will be directed north on Race Street to Pennsylvania Avenue, east on Pennsylvania Avenue to Vine Street and south on Vine Street to Florida Avenue. 

Westbound traffic will be directed north on Vine Street to Pennsylvania Avenue, west on Pennsylvania Avenue to Race Street and south on Race Street to Florida Avenue.
