Construction & Staging Information - Airport Road West Reconstruction Project

Current Status: Project construction is underway.

Staging Sequence:  See traffic control plans below.

Airport Road between Willow Road and Cunningham (US 45) will be reconstructed under road closure.  Airport Road west of Willow Road will remain open at all times and this section of the road will be reconstructed under staged construction (see traffic control plans below).  Airport Road east of Cunningham Avenue (US 45) will remain open at all times and this section of the road will be reconstructed under staged construction (see traffic control plans below).

Impacts to Traffic:

Road Closure - Airport Road from Willow Road to Cunningham Avenue (US 45) will be closed to through traffic starting May 22, 2017 until further notice is issued by the City of Urbana.

Detour Route - a marked detour route from Napleton Way-Anthony Drive-Willow Road will be available for use by local traffic.

Access to Frasca International, Inc. - access will be via the marked detour route.

Access to Farm & Fleet - access will be via Napleton Way

Access to residenses/businesses on Airport Road west of Willow Road - access will be via the marked detour route. 

Impacts to Transit:

Bus routes are expected to be adjusted during construction of this improvement.  Please visit cumtd.com for current bus route information.

Project Substantial Completion Date (except defined landscaping):  November 22, 2017

Project Completion Date (landscape items):  May 25, 2018
