Prevailing Wage Act

The Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1 et seq.) requires contractors or subcontractors to pay prevailing wages to all laborers, workers, and mechanics who perform work on a public works project. The City of Urbana Police Department is seeking bids for the purchase of pistols, holsters and weapons-mounted lights to replace the current inventory. The Urbana Police Department also would require that the vendor accept the current inventory of pistols as trade for fair market value. The Department requests that Urbana Police officers be given a reasonable opportunity to purchase their specific pistols back from the vendor for what the vendor paid the department plus any paper work fee. The Department will require 30 days from the time the new pistols and accessories arrive to facilitate a changeover. The Department will then deliver the old inventory to the vendor. Vendors must submit a complete bid to the Urbana Police Department by 2:00 PM June 25, 2020.

Invitation to Bid: Leachate Force Main Cleaning (1920-38)

The City of Urbana is seeking bids from qualified vendors to provide cleaning services for 2,404 feet of 2-inch diameter force main cleaning.

Sealed bids will be accepted at the Public Works Department, 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, Illinois 61802, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Bids will be accepted up to and no later than 9:00 AM CST, Friday, June 12, 2020.

The City is seeking to select a qualified professional vendor to develop, validate, administer, and score assessment centers and/or written exam for the promotional testing of Division Chief in the Fire Department.

Sealed BIDS for the construction of the Vine and Washington Resurfacing Project (City Section 18-00615-00-RS) including: removal and replacement of concrete roadway surface, removal and replacement of concrete curb, removal and replacement of bituminous roadway surface at select locations, reconstruction of sidewalk ramps and other incidental work will be received by the City of Urbana at the office of the Director of Public Works, 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, Illinois 61802 until 12:55 p.m. prevailing time on Friday, May 22, 2020 and publicly opened and read aloud at 1:00 p.m. at said office. Due to current Covid-19 precautions, the bids will be read by Public Works staff and broadcast over Urbana Public Television.
