Beginning 7:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2012 through 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2012 weather permitting, Cunningham Avenue will have periodic lane closures in the southbound lane from Perkins Road to University Avenue to allow for the installation of fiber optic conduit and handholes. Two-way traffic will be maintained on Cunningham Avenue at all times while this work is performed.We apologize for any inconvenience these lane closures may cause.

The City is making sanitary sewer repairs on Grove Street between Oregon Street and Washington Street. Grove Street will be closed to all through traffic beginning at 7:00 A.M. on Tuesday February 7, 2012 to Friday February 10, 2012 at 5:00 P.M. weather permitting. All residents along Grove Street from Oregon Street to Washington Street will be able to access their properties during the sewer repair.We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

As part of the Urbana Champaign Sanitary District’s Annual Sanitary Interceptor Maintenance Project, the District’s Contractor, KIM Construction, will be lining the manholes that run north along Vine Street starting on Monday, February 6th at 7:30 A.M. and ending on Friday February 10th at 7:30 P.M. weather permitting.Traffic will be affected on the following streets during the cleaning and lining work:

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has announced that the City of Urbana, the City of Champaign, and C-U Safe Routes To School Project will receive Safe Routes to School (SRTS) grant funding. These projects will enable and encourage elementary and middle school students to walk & bike to school, in some cases even if they live far from school. Walking & biking to school can provide health, environmental, and transportation benefits for families.

As part of the Urbana Champaign Sanitary District’s Annual Sanitary Interceptor Maintenance Project, the District’s Contractor Insituform will perform lining of an 18-inch sanitary interceptor that runs north along Urbana Ave. Insituform will line Urbana Ave from Elm Street to Main Street on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. weather permitting.Traffic will be affected on the following streets during the lining work:
