UFD Accepting Firefighter Applications

The City of Urbana is continuing to accept applications for Entry-Level Firefighter through Sunday, June 11, 2017.  The City offers employees a comprehensive benefits package, competitive pay and a career ladder with multiple opportunities to reward motivation and achievement.

Qualifications include:

• Age: At least 21 years old and under 35 years old, unless exempted under state statute (65 ILCS 5/10-1- 7.1). Exemptions are allowed for military service and volunteer, paid-on-call, part-time and full-time firefighters meeting certain conditions.
• Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Residency: No residency requirement to test. If hired by the Urbana Fire Department, must live within a 35-mile radius of the corporate limits of the City of Urbana.
