The City will post no parking signs to notify the public of the dates and times during which no parking will be allowed along the edge of the street. Local traffic will be maintained as much as possible; however, depending on conditions, streets may be closed for 15 to 30 minutes on the day of the work.

The contractor will put a layer of oil followed by a layer of small gray rock on the street. There will be some dust and loose rock on the street after it has been placed. The City will sweep up the loose rock after the contractor is finished with the work.

The project award amount is $156,965, which is funded with Local Gas Tax funds. This cost-effective maintenance treatment is being applied to extend the service life of the pavement. For more information about this project, please visit http://www.urbanaillinois.us/2017OilChip.
