The City of Urbana is transitioning to a new eProcurement system called OpenGov for publishing solicitations, and receiving vendor responses. Register your account early to begin receiving email notifications of bid/RFP postings.  Registration is 100% free for vendors!

Prevailing Wage Act

The Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1 et seq.) requires contractors or subcontractors to pay prevailing wages to all laborers, workers, and mechanics who perform work on a public works project. Sealed BIDS for the construction of the Mathews Avenue Lighting Project (City Section 21-00633-00-LT) including roadway lighting improvements located along Mathews Avenue from Oregon Street to Springfield Avenue will be received by the City of Urbana at the office of the City Engineer, 706 South Glover, Urbana, Illinois 61802 until 2:00 p.m. prevailing time on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 and publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 p.m. at said office.

All bidders are required to provide current financial and experience statements or other prequalification documents to show satisfactory evidence of the bidder’s competency to perform the proposed work at the time the Contract Documents and Specifications are requested or picked up.

Work Site:  1210 E. University Ave. Landscape Recycling Center Booth.  A 770 square foot, one story building.

Work Hours/Days:  8am-3pm, Monday-Saturday.  Additional hours/days may be arranged by mutual consent.  Prefer completion by June 30, 2021.

Work Includes:  Removal and disposal of existing wood siding, replacement and/or addition of exterior sheathing as necessary, installation of insulation-backed vinyl siding, repair and/or replacement of vented soffit as needed. Prefer not to remove soffit, if possible cut existing siding below current soffit for installation.

Color:  Prefer a brown color to blend with gutters and soffit.  Samples colors to be provided prior to work.
