URBANA ARTS GRANTS PROGRAM
The City of Urbana supports opportunities for all residents to engage with the arts in its many forms. The arts are essential to the vitality and development of the city and enhance the quality of life while encouraging economic development, academic performance, and social tolerance. The Urbana Public Arts Commission, through the Urbana Arts Grants Program, supports projects in the arts that are accessible to the public. This program fosters an environment for established and emerging artists to thrive in Urbana, promotes life-long participation and learning in the arts, and integrates art into the urban environment.
This grant program is open to all disciplines in the arts on public display within spaces open to the public, including but not limited to creative writing, dance, film, video, music, theatre, visual arts, crafts, performing arts, spoken word, environmental arts, multimedia arts, architectural arts, landscape architecture, and emerging media.
Urbana Arts Grant applications for the 2018 cycle are now closed.
Applications for our 2019 cycle will be released in the late fall of 2018.

ARTS IN THE SCHOOLS GRANT PROGRAM
Arts in the Schools, a project-based arts education grant program, was developed by the Urbana Public Arts Program in 2012. Since then, four schools in the Urbana School District #116 have been awarded the grant. The initiative aims to advance art education opportunities for students in Urbana public schools. Some of the goals that it addresses include: supporting lifelong participation and learning in the arts, creating conditions for equity and participation in programs of artistic excellence that are accessible, affordable, and diverse; and expanding the City’s creative community.
Arts in the Schools deadline has passed. Please look forward to a new application released in the fall of 2018.
