FY 2016-2017 City of Urbana & Cunningham Township Consolidated Social Service Funding Applications Available

Non-profit organizations seeking funds to operate social service programs benefiting Urbana residents may apply to the Consolidated Social Service Funding (CSSF) Pool.  Funds may be used for both services to clients and program operating costs.   

The application is a fillable form and can be submitted electronically. Download and complete the application (see attached) and then submit it to Matt Rejc, Community Development Coordinator (mwrejc@urbanaillinois.us - 400 S. Vine Street, Urbana, Attn: Matt Rejc). Applicants should feel free to submit additional narrative on separate pages if they feel that the application form does not provide sufficient space.

Applications will also be available at the following locations:

  • City of Urbana, Community Development Services, 400 S. Vine St., Urbana;
  • Cunningham Township Supervisor’s Office, 205 W. Green St., Urbana.

All applicants are required to attend one of the Technical Assistance Training sessions at the Urbana Civic Center, 108 East Water St., on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 11:00am-Noon, or  Friday, March 11, 2016 from 11:00am-Noon.

Closed: City of Urbana Releases a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Enterprise Software

On February 1, 2016 the City of Urbana released a Request for Proposals (RFP), the first step in a process to implement software solutions for several key City functions:

  • Financial Management/Personnel/Payroll
  • Asset Management/Work Orders
  • Building Code Inspections

Boneyard Creek Community Day

Registration is now open for the 11th annual Boneyard Creek Community Day. The event, to be held Saturday, April 23, encourages the public to help protect local waterways though cleanup and educational activities.


Individuals of all ages can participate. Work sites vary from projects in the creek to those more suitable for children. Cleanup begins at 9 a.m. and ends at noon. After the clean-up activities, lunch will be served at Scott Park, where there will also be music and interactive learning displays.


Last year a record 500 volunteers participated in picking up 165 cubic yards of litter from an approximately 1,800-acre area.

Notice of Neighborhood Meetings & Public Hearing for the FY 2016-2017 Annual Action Plan (AAP)

The City of Urbana and the Urbana HOME Consortium (comprised of the City of Urbana, the City of Champaign, and Champaign County) are seeking citizen input regarding community needs for the preparation of the Annual Action Plan (AAP) for Fiscal Year 2016-2017. The AAP establishes budgets for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program. Please see the attached notice for more details.
