Blood Services of IllinoisWho will get the most donors?

This is a friendly competition between the Urbana Police Department and the Urbana Fire Department in an effort to get blood donors. These Urbana Departments want to help save lives! Urbana Fire Marshall Phil Edwards and former Urbana Police Officer Preston James have taken on the mission of recruiting donors from their departments. This blood drive is open to the public, and the community is encouraged to come on out the Urbana Civic Center and give blood!

PLEASE HONOR OUR FIRST RESPONDERS by giving blood during the Boots vs. Badges Blood Drive.

HOW: To schedule your time to donate blood, please call Community Blood Services of Illinois at 217-367-2202. Scheduling an appointment is recommended. Or click on this link to schedule your appointment time.

WHO WINS? During the blood drive, all donors will fill out a HERO CARD and nominate the department they would like to credit their donation to. The department with the most votes receives a trophy! This is an annual event with the trophy being given to the winning department.

REMEMBER: They are all winners as this event will help support the patient-need in our community. Donors will get a voucher for a free "Give to Live" T-Shirt. Please support your local Police and Fire Departments while helping to save lives in your community.

Community Blood Services of Illinois is the sole provider of blood products to Carle Foundation Hospital and OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center.
