The City Clerk's mission is to provide professional records management, meet all legal notice requirements for meetings, serve as clerk to the City Council and to assist the County Clerk in conducting elections.

The Urbana City Council will tour Public Works and Development Project Sites on Monday, August 11, 2014 from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. This is an informal tour; not a meeting or a fact-finding session, and does not require a public audience, but public is welcome. Seating is limited to first come, first serve.

The city is seeking public input and comment on the draft City Council and Mayor Goals document. After four months of public meetings, the city council completed work on the draft goals, which are meant to guide the city for the next three-plus years, on Monday, Feb. 10.

Mayor Laurel Prussing is seeking applicants to serve on the newly created Traffic Stop Data Task Force. The 11-member task force was authorized when the City Council approved a resolution on Jan. 21. Applications will be accepted by the Mayor's office through the month of February. The task force is charged with identifying and studying any racial disparities that may exist in local traffic stop data supplied annually to the city by the Illinois Department of Transportation, and to attempt to find the source and cause of the disparity.
