Records available through the Urbana Police Department:

You may get the following from Records:

  • Auto Accident: Copy fee $5
  • Clearance Letter: Available to Urbana residents for $4; bring an identification card. These letters are often used for adoption, passports, etc.
  • Thefts/Criminal Damage Reports: Press Releases are available if you have been a victim of a theft or criminal damage.

Records available through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA):

Freedom of Information requests are coordinated by the Urbana City Clerk’s Office. If the request is police related, their office will forward the request to our Department. Their office is open M-F, 8-5. They will contact you when your information is ready for pick-up.
You may submit them online also:

  • Offense Reports: A press release is available to the requestor. Until the case has gone through the court system and a disposition is given, the report and supplemental reports are not available to the public.
