On Friday, September 21, 2012 Urbana High School will hold their annual Homecoming Parade from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Race Street will be closed to thru traffic between Iowa Street and Michigan Avenue beginning at 1:00 p.m. through the start of the parade. Traffic along the parade route will only be obstructed for the time it takes for the parade to clear the area. (Approximately 15 minutes)

Weather permitting; Shaw Brothers Concrete will cause the outside, south bound lane of Vine Street at California Avenue to be closed to traffic from 7:00 a.m. Monday, September 24, 2012 to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 for pavement repair around a water valve replacement. South bound traffic will be routed to the center, left turn lane. Delays are to be expected. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.  As part of the City of Urbana’s on-going sewer lining project, Walden Associated Technologies from Glen Carbon, Illinois will be performing sewer lining along Busey Avenue between Clark Street and University Avenue.   Due to the narrow width of Busey Avenue at this location, Walden will be closing this portion of the road while the sewer lining is being done.  Busey Avenue from Clark Street to University Avenue will be closed to thru traffic on Wednesday September 19, 2012 from 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. weather permitting. The City of Urbana’s Draft Climate Action Plan Phase 1 will be made available to the public at Urbana’s Market at the Square on Saturday, September 15, 2012. City staff will also be present to answer your questions on strategies proposed in the Phase 1 Plan. The Market at the Square is open from 7:00AM to 12:00PM on Saturday, located on the corner of Illinois and Vine Streets. Stop by and visit city staff at the northwest entrance to the Market, closest to Lincoln Square Village. We greatly value public input about our efforts to mitigate greenhouse gasses.
